The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah has disclosed that information which went viral that several Islamic Senior High School students have been whacked by a vehicle is false.
According to Hon. Simon Osei Mensah an investigation since two years ago has buttressed his statement.
He made this known to Wontumionline’s Nana Owusu Achiaw on Tuesday when he paid a working visit to Urban Roads Department and some Government institutions in the Region.
“Though there have been accidents on the Abrepo- Islamic SHS stretch no student has been involved”, he said.
The Ashanti Regional Minister recalled that ” there was a female teacher who was driving a car and was coming from the school to join the main road and maybe she was in a rush and a vehicle ran into hers’.
However, the Director of Ashanti Regional Urban Roads Department, Engineer Francis Gambrah said the anchor ropes used as speed ramps on roads are illegal.
He revealed that the Department will soon deploy modernized speed ramps to replace the anchor ropes.
