New Juaben South MCE Lauds Court Decision On Rastafarian Students Impasse

The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben, Hon. Ike Appau- Gyasi has commended the High Court for ordering the Achimota Senior High School to admit the rastafarian students.

He said, the school must ensure that the students obey the rules of the school to maintain sanity.

“Being an old student of Achimota school, I agree the school wants to keep a certain standard.Smoking weed is not accepted in the school which the student must know,” he said on Wontumi Radio/TV Morning Show on Thursday.

Hon. Appau-Gyasi stated that, nobody knows for a fact that, if Tyron Marguy and Oheneba Nkrabea smoke weed or not.

“We don’t even know for a fact if he smokes or not,” he stressed.

He noted that most good schools have rastafarians in them and there has not been any negative comments from them so the Achimota school should emulate them and admit the students.
