The Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has taken a direct swipe at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) describing their manifesto as one which lacks credibility and stifle the progress of Ghana’s economy.
In an interview on Wontumi TV and Radio, the Vice President postulated that instead of the NDC coming up with a manifesto that would bring hope to Ghanaians, they have compiled a document that talks about building mortuaries.
“In their manifesto, they are talking about paying footballers GHC1,500. So are they trying to tell us that they will be paying the salaries of every private person that establishes a football team? They are talking about building mortuaries and stuff. They don’t have a credible manifesto”, Dr. Bawumia simply put.
Vice President Bawumia also noted that the track record of the NDC under former President John Mahama, makes it difficult for voters to trust him since it was his administration that caused and brought about the cancellation of Teaching and Nursing allowance.
As the 2020 election draws closer, the NDC has come out to apologize for taking the decision to to scrap both teacher and nursing trainees’ allowances under the leadership of former President Mahama.
The National Youth Organiser for the party, George Opare Addo admitted that the decision by former President John Dramani Mahama was unpopular.
But Vice President pointed out that “they (NDC) don’t have a credible record. Their mismanagement of the economy proved it” therefore calling on voters to reject the NDC.
