NDC’s Galamsey Plan Is as Outdated as Ten Hag’s Tactics – Obiri Boahen

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, a former deputy general secretary, has ridiculed the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over their proposed strategy to tackle the galamsey issue if they win the 2024 election.

In a recent interview on a Kumasi-based radio station, Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen compared the NDC’s plan to the outdated tactics of Manchester United’s coach, Erik Ten Hag.

He suggested that just as Ten Hag’s approach is considered old-fashioned, so too are the NDC’s proposed methods for combating illegal mining.

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen argued that the current effective strategy is more akin to the modern tactics employed by Hansi Flick, coach of Barcelona. He criticized the NDC for sticking to what he views as outdated solutions, rather than adopting more current and effective approaches.

The NDC has promised to invest $500 million in combating illegal mining if they win the election, a point reiterated by their Special Aide to flagbearer John Mahama and National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi. The latter has emphasized that removing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from power is crucial to ending the galamsey crisis.

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen also accused the NDC of undermining the current government unfairly and called for a cessation of these tactics. He passionately declared his support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, asserting his unwavering belief that Bawumia will become President.
