A stalwart of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Albert Forkuo Boakye has stated that his party lost the 2020 general elections based on research and data.
The party’s communication team member stated on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com that their main political opponent, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), rather made more gains in the 2020 elections than the NPP.
Albert Forkuo Boakye used the Ashanti region to explain his case by noting that available data shows that out of the over 300,000 votes that were added to what was recorded in 2016, the NDC had 155,720 compared to the NPP’s 146,844 in 2020.
He therefore added that the NDC won the election in Ashanti region, considered to be a stronghold of the NPP with a net vote of 8,896.
He advised that “if you are not a researcher and you take the votes the party (NPP) got on face value, you will miss the point. If you do a proper analysis, you will see that we lost it”.
