On September 4, 2021, the two major political parties in Ghana will have their social media teams battle it out in a football match.
Both political parties have a vibrant and strong social media army and the preparation to battle it out on a football pitch would prove to be very interesting in the coming days.
They are set to have their friendly encounter at the Madina AstroTurf which would allow them assembly their best players and to test whether they have football skills just like their communication skills.
The event is being organized by The Campaign City and has been dubbed “Social Soccer” and it aims to promote unity among all the Social Media handlers of the two political parties.
In an interview with the organizers, Campaign City they explained that “during the run-up to the 2020 Elections, there was a lot of Social Media attacks before, during and after the 2020 Elections, this upon further discussions with the leadership of both Social Media groups has led to some level of friction between the two (2) parties.”
The #SocialSoccer match is also to enlighten members of both parties of the need to sanitize the media space and to clear any perceived friction between the two parties.
