NDC To Be Embarrassed Again Over Threat To Report Agyapa To LSE – Hon Pius Hadzide

The Minority’s threat to notify the London Stock Exchange and the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK about the controversial Agyapa Minerals Royalties deal would be an embarrassment to the NDC as the party who has governed the nation for many years, Deputy Information Minister Pius Enam Hadzide has noted.

According to him, if the minority’s concerns were genuine and legitimate they would have sought redress at platforms within the Ghanaians system.

Economist Dr Lord Mensah has also warned that the controversies surrounding the deal will affect investor interest in the shares of the company.

The NDC MPs maintain the deal lacks transparency and has all the markings of state capture.

Government has however called the buff of the minority.

Speaking to Starr News Mr Hadzide said “I am not too surprised the NDC is always wanting to drag the name of the good country called Ghana into disrepute internationally. Unfortunately, anytime they have attempted this, they have ended up embarrassing themselves.”

“I’m not too sure if the outcome of these efforts will be any different from the earlier embarrassments that they have suffered. I can give you a litany of similar embarrassment. The thing is that they always go and get greatly embarrassed. I anticipate yet another embarrassment awaiting them.”

He noted: “we can only wish them well, we are well aware that this investment fund was properly passed into law by parliament and that the government has continued to stay within the remits and confines of the law.

“But importantly, I wanted to point out that there are platforms and opportunities within the Ghanaian system that should be able to address any of these concerns. If they are indeed genuine and legitimate, but the NDC they want to make it difficult for our policy projects.”

Mr Hadzide added, “but they prove themselves as people who are not patriotic, they prove themselves as who are not concerned about the national interest, as people who are only interested in the parochial partisan interest.”
