Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are staging robberies like an “Akan drama”, a staunch member of the New Patriotic Party has said.
Mr. David Boakye, the Bono East Regional Secretary for the NPP slighted the NDC for doing unthinkable things including staging robberies to make the Akufo-Addo led government unpopular.
In an interview on Wontumi TV, the NPP Secretary stated that he bemused to see how a robbery attacked was recently staged at Achimota and Weija.
“They want to disgrace Ghana because Akufo-Addo is President. We shouldn’t be surprised with what is happening. They can’t match what the NPP has done, all they can do is to make people angry by staging robberies”, David Boakye said.
A 33-year-old woman was robbed of her money worth GH¢29,000 at gunpoint at Apenkwa near Lapaz, in the Greater Accra Region.
The robbers on motorbikes trailed the victim who was returning from a bank at Abeka to the Achimota traffic light where they fired warning shots near the Apenkwa Traffic Light and the woman out of fear stepped out of her car and handed over all the money to the robbers.
But David Boakye described the heist as an “Akan drama…It is like a movie they were acting on stage.”
