NDC Plan To Truncate Free SHS- GCPP Chairman
Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Kofi Owusu Omar, has revealed a plot by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to abolish the free SHS policy if they come to power.
According to him, the flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, has said that the ¢1.2bn money which has been invested in the free SHS is huge.
Speaking on Wontumi Morning Show on Wontumi Radio and TV on Monday, Chairman Omar indicated that, the NDC cannot absorb some of the tertiary fees contrary to what they have promised in their manifesto..
The NDC researchers don’t even know the population of the tertiary students across the country and may have also forgotten that, each student pursues a different course at the tertiary.
According to the GCPP Chairman, the population of the tertiary students is about 250, 000.

He noted that a section of Ghanaians doubted it when he said John Mahama and his NDC don’t engage in research before forming raising issues , adding that “if they did they would have realized that the promises by the NDC are all lies”
“NDC couldn’t even pay the teacher-nurses trainee allowances yet they could afford paying American Musician, Chris Brown and gave him $1m after he smoked weed on stage. The NDC only paid three months of some of the teachers who worked for about two years.” He bemoaned.
Chairman Omar said the NPP’s offer of loan acquisition for tertiary students as contained in the NPP’s manifesto is a privilege because all that is required is for one to have a Ghana Citizenship ID card and not a guarantor as it used to be.
