Consider yourself a fool if you are a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and think Chairman Wontumi is into galamsey, Kwame Baffoe has underscored.
The Bono regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reacted to claims and allegations by some members of the NDC that Chairman Wontumi is into illegal mining.
Addressing the issue on Wontumi TV, Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye revealed that it is disheartening to see some NDC members circulating videos of a sign post mounted by Chairman Wontumi’s mining company- Akonta Mining, and spreading false news that he is into illegal mining.
“Is this how low minded you have become? Who mounts a sign post and engages in galamsey? It is an illegal act so the people behind galamsey would never mount a sign post… Newmont Ghana and Anglo Gold have sign post because they are doing the right thing and this what Akonta mining has done because it has the right documents to mine”, Abronye said to defend Chairman Wontumi.
He challenged the NDC members to stop standing by Chairman Wontumi’s sign post and rather show what his company is doing on the land if they believe their allegation against him is true.
