The Nationa Commutation Direof the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Richard Ahiagba has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of being afraid to debate them on their policies and programmes.
“The NDC is running away from a debate because they know their policies have failed and they have nothing to show for their time in government,” the Communication Director said in a press conference.
“They are unable to defend their record and would rather hide behind excuses than face the truth.”
The NPP had challenged the NDC to a debate on their respective policies and programmes, but the NDC has declined, citing a lack of preparation and a need to focus on reorganizing their party.
The NPP Communication Director dismissed the NDC’s excuses, saying “The NDC has had plenty of time to prepare and should be ready to defend their policies. The fact that they are not ready shows that they are not serious about governance and are only interested in playing politics.”
The development has sparked a heated debate in the country, with many calling for the NDC to accept the challenge and debate the NPP on their policies and programmes.
The NPP has vowed to continue to push for a debate, saying that the public deserves to know the truth about the NDC’s record in government.
