NDC Cancelled Free Maternal Care, They’ll Cancel Free Senior High School Too – Ursula Owusu

Communications Minister Ursula Owusu has sounded an alarm, warning Ghanaians that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would cancel the Free Senior High School program if they return to power.

Speaking on the ‘Talk Ghana Show on Wontumi TV, Owusu pointed to the NDC’s past record, citing the cancellation of the Free Maternal Care policy under their administration.

“The children who are now enjoying FSHS are the beneficiaries of free maternal care, NDC when took over started with technical terms and finally cancelled it. If they cancelled free maternal care, which benefited vulnerable women, what stops them from scrapping Free SHS?” she asked.

Owusu emphasized that the NPP’s Free SHS program has benefited millions of Ghanaian students, ensuring access to quality education regardless of socio-economic status.

“We cannot risk going back to a system where education is a privilege, not a right,” she stressed.
