A staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), David Boakye has asked members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to cut vice President Bawumia some slack over pressure on him to name his running mate for the 2024 general elections.
The Bono East regional Secretary for the NPP stated on Wontumi TV that former President John Mahama has even failed to name his running mate after years of being elected flagbearer of the NDC.
He therefore urged the NDC to ease piling pressure on Dr. Bawumia who was just elected by the NPP as flagbearer.
David Boakye indicated that Bawumia’s impending lecture at Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium (UPSA) has given the NDC migraine hence their call for his running mate.
“From the day it came out he was about to talk about his vision for Ghana, they are saying they dot want lectures they want running mate…Someone (Mahama) was elected years ago and he hasn’t been able to name a running mate”, he said.
