The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh in collaboration with the College of Beauty of Art and Entrepreneurship (CBAE), a government outfit on Tuesday launched a training programme to provide skills to 80 unemployed persons.
Speaking at the launch at Abbeys Park conference room, Rebecca Donkor, CEO for CBAE said the programme has been designed to last beneficiaries 6 weeks from the start.
She noted that beneficiaries would get the chance to learn and become make up artists, fashion designers and saloonists as well as other specialisations under the CBAE programme.
“CBAE has been set up to partner with institutions and personalities to carry out training for groups so as to equip them with the necessary skills needed to become employable or entrepreneurs”, Madam Donkor stated.
REPRESENTATIVE OF MP:
Addressing participants including the beneficiaries, Nana Tima, Representative of the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South commended CBAE for taking up the initiative to commence training for the selected first batch of beneficiaries.
She expressed her desire to see the first 80 beneficiaries going on from the training programme to become employable or do something on their own.
Nana Tima disclosed that the MP, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh had made provision for start- up equipment for the 80 beneficiaries to commence their training with.
“This training programme shows that Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh is committed to supporting constituents to become employable or get training to become entrepreneurs”, Nana Tima stressed.
CHIEF:
Nana Kwaku Duah, Kokosohene urged beneficiaries to take the training serious.
He noted that this programme affords them the opportunity to learn some skills to get employment or set up their own businesses in future.
BENEFICIARIES:
Sophia Nkrumah, a 29 year unemployed lady said she was happy to have been selected by the MP to benefit from this training programme.
She noted that the provision of equipment to aid them to undertake the training excites her as well as her colleague beneficiaries.
Kwadwo Asamoah, a 25 year old unemployed man said he was upbeat about the training and noted that he would do his best to learn at least two modules under same so that he can become effective at them in future.
