An astute politician cum Private Legal Practitioner, Nana Obiri Boahen has threatened to drag the Electoral Commission to Supreme Court should it fails to go by the decision to use the Ghana card as the sole identity card for the 2024 election.
According to Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, Legislative Instruments 211 of 2012 which was gazetted in the NDC era is unambiguous that the Ghana card is the only card that can be used for elections.
Speaking in an interview with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on the State Of Ghana Political show on Wontumi TV, fumed that the EC is not for NDC and NPP adding that the Commission is guided by law.
“I don’t talk much. I talk as a scholar. If you are in Parliament that doesn’t mean Ghana is for you and you will berate the EC,” he said.
“Tell the MP for Banda, Ahmed, Atto Forson, and those who don’t know the law to stop the ugly noise. I call it ugly noise. It’s not only them who know how to make noise.”
Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen roared that the NDC cannot use aggressiveness to intimidate anyone.
He urged the EC Chairperson, Jeane Mensah, and her Lawyers to be bold, resolute, and firm to adhere to the decision.
