Nana Addo’s Second Coming To Pave The Way For Massive Transformation Of Tema West Municipality -MCE
The Tema West Municipal Chief Executive, Adwoa Amoako, has revealed how a perfect collaboration with the MP for the area, Carlos Ahenkorah has resulted in the rapid development of the area.
Hon Adwoa Amoako made the disclosure when he featured on Wontumi TV/radio on the popular political programme during which the various MMDCE’s take turn to showcase the achievements of the NPP government as far as infrastructural development is concerned.
She said even though a lot has been achieved, including the maintenance works done on the central sewage system ” there is still more to be done to bring about the total transformation of the Municipality to the desirable level.
She expressed excitement for the Assembly’s ability to overcome the major sewerage challenge that endured for a very long time.
“I’m gratified to announce on this programme that the challenge which was an eyesore has become a thing of the past.”
She told Oheneba Nana Asiedu, the host of the programme.
She said all major road projects have been either given on contract or are seriously being considered for facelifting.
Shedding more light on the development of Tema West Hon Adwoa Amoako said all major roads in the Municipality have been given a face lift.
“The plush suburb of Sakumono has literally become “Aburokyiri” to wit, “a white man’s city.” She noted.
Hon Ahenkorah who called into the programme made special reference to the sprawling neighbourhood of Adei Kojo which is the biggest electoral area in the Municipality.
“Adjei Kojo will attract a lot of attention during Nana Addo’s second term with the injection of a lot of infrastructural projects.” He noted.
According to him the contract for the development of a total of 11.5 km stretch of road within the area has been awarded.
“The project ought to have taken off recently but with the closeness of the election we have decided to hold on awhile until it is over so it would not be misconstrued that we are doing it to attract votes come the December elections.” He explained.
The Tema West MP acknowledged that the Adjei Kojo township is seriously deprived when it comes to school infrastructure.
“There’s only one school in the vast township. But we have decided to improve the situation in our second term by building more schools.So far the construction of a training center is ongoing as well as the construction of 2-storey 12 unit classroom block.”
Hon Ahenkorah stressed that the development of Agyei Kodwo shall become a key feature of the next phase of the transformation of the Tema West Constituency in Nana Addo’s second term.
Meanwhile on the general election scheduled for next Monday, the Tema West MCE has given the assurance that all is set in terms of the provision of adequate security.
She said the Municipality has a high concentration of foreigners and this makes security management a bit complex. But she said that as the chairperson of the DISEC, she has ensured that nothing is given to chance.
“I have done everything possible by organizing a series of meetings to prepare the grounds for an incident-free elections come next Monday.
According to her, a task force comprising all the security agencies has been formed with the personnel given special orders to maintain extra vigilance at all the hot spots.
Hon Adwoa Amoako urged all eligible voters to go and vote on the election day , “because their total security is guaranteed.”
