Nana Addo’s Age Is No Barrier To Meeting His Goals – Oppong Nkrumah
Minister for Information, Hon Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has reacted to the mockery been made of the President’s advanced Age with the most current taunt coming from the former President John Dramani Mahama .
According to Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, even though the President is advanced in years , it hasn’t become a hindrance in the discharge of his official duties
The Hon Minister of Information who was addressing the media in Kumasi said ,” the President who arrived from Niamey , Niger did not rest and was soon on his way to commence his six days tour of the three new regions carved out of the Brong Ahafo Region .
According to him, the President ,as he is noted for, will tour the Regions by road and “not by air as former President Mahama is fond of.”
A major feature of the administration of the President is that a solid team has been put together to advice him on all major decisions he takes toward the rapid development of the country.
He said, the President’s penchant for consulting the experts forms the basis of his competence and the novelty he has introduced into the running of the affairs of the state.
On the NDC’S manifesto, Hon Oppong-Nkrumah emphasized that promises which cannot be kept can cause Mr Mahama’s downfall .
“In the 2012 NDC’S manifesto a promise was made to pay Assembly Members but this did not happen before John Mahama left office in 2016. The same goes with the one time premium NHIS payment which became a fiasco. Strangely, he is making more promises .” The Information Minister said.
He cautioned that, “against the background of series of failed promises one can conclude that all the lofty promises contained in the NDC’S manifesto can never be fulfilled. They are only meant to deceive Ghanaians.”
Hon Oppong Nkrumah stressed that the December polls will strictly be based on achievements, the track record – a discipline which the NDC is found wanting .
He reminded Mahama that Ghanaians are very discerning and not a group of people who forget so easily as John Mahama assumes. Ghanaians can’t forget the empty promises he and his party have made.
