Nana Addo Is Ghana’s Best Bet To Consolidate Economic Growth- Samira Bawumia
The wife of the Vice-president, Hajia Samira Bawumia has urged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to work hard as they campaign to get President Akufo-Addo re-elected for a second term of office.
She noted that only a second term for the President would help the NPP to consolidate the work it has done in government from 2017 till now.
Addressing members of the Ashanti Regional Women’s wing of the party in Kumasi at the inauguration of its women’s campaign team, Hajia Samira said it would be suicidal for the country if it does not continue the path of progress as it is enjoying under the NPP.
The pair of Nana Addo and Dr Mahamadu Bawumia coupled with the brilliant economic management team, the second lady noted have worked to get the fragile economy left to it by the NDC to get a new lease of life.
“We must work to gain economic freedom and that is the path Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has set the country on and all we need as a party and people is to vote for four more years for the President on December 7”, the Second Lady posited to a thunderous applause.
KATE GYAMFUA:
Addresing the gathering later, Madam Kate Abena Gyamfua, National Women’s Organiser of the party said Ghanaian women possess the midas touch in choosing who leads the country as President in the next four years.
She noted that since women form 51 percent of the voting population in the upcoming polls, it was crucial that the women’s wing rally all the female folk to sell the message of the NPP.
REGIONAL WOMEN’S ORGANIZER:
Nana Ama Ampomah, Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser charged members and patrons of the campaign team to redouble their efforts so as to win every household in Ashanti to the fold of the NPP.
She cautioned the women against bickering and pettiness, noting that such negative tendencies derail success in every good thing.
REGIONAL CHAIRMAN:
Swearing in the women’s campaign team which had Madam Dokua chairing with Mama Pat and Madam Serwaah Derkye as well as a dozen of members, Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP tasked them to ensure they work to achieve the agenda ‘win all 47 parliamentary seats in Ashanti’.
He asked them to be diligent and strategic in their planning as well as outdoor activities so as to get people in communities within the Ashanti Region to identify with the NPP.
The regional chairman thanked the women’s wing for their unending commitment to the NPP and urged them to replicate same from now till Nana Addo is retained as President in the December 7 polls.
Present at the party event were the Deputy Chief of Staff, Asenso Boakye, Deputy Minister for Science, Technology, Environment and Innovation, Madam Patricia Appiagyei, CEO of YEA, Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong as well as the regional executives of Ashanti NPP.
