NABTAG wishes to inform the appropriate agencies responsible for security and the general public that its National President, Dennis Opoku Katakyie, has been incessantly threatened by some mischievous persons hiding under unknown social media accounts.

The threat to his life began somewhere last year when his commitment to serving as the National President for NABCO Trainees Association of Ghana (NABTAG) was apparently seen as annoyance to an unknown group that was being influenced to frustrate him, so that they could gain a leeway to disrupt his focus in service to the nation, especially beneficiaries of the NABCO scheme.

Similar threats were occassioned last year and the person who was in direct association to the threat was invited by the Police to answer some questions. After being taken through severe warnings with personal statement taken by him to the effect that he was not going to repeat such life-threatening offence, he made peace with the National President of NABTAG. Consequently, the attacks from that angle were addressed by the police.

To our surprise, it appears the same issue has been overturned with yet another graving threats issued against Dennis Opoku Katakyie on Facebook with the account name kojo nabco. This time around, the person sounded specific that, “Somebody should inform that stupid guy who called himself NABTAG President that I will kill him physically. I swear you guys will hear a shocked news very soon.”

The background investigations carried out so far direct our suspicion to an alliance from the camp of the previous case of which the same person was invited by the Ghana Police and was warned.

In the meantime, contact details of some suspected individuals have been forwarded to the police to be invited for questioning.

In addition, the Cybercrime Unit of the National Security Agency has commenced thorough investigations with full force to ensure that the persons behind this criminal act are brought to book and made to face the full rigours of the law.

NABTAG would like to reecho its quest to keep pursuing trainees wellbeing regardless of the ensuing distractions.
