Suame Magazine Spare Parts Dealers Association Lauds Bawumia’s Flat Rate On Import Duties For Spare Parts

The vice president of the Republic, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says, Ghana will be a cashless nation under presidency.

To him, this policy will help combat corruption when implemented under his tenure of office.

Presenting his policies to the nation on 7th February, 2024, he emphatically stated that many corrupt activities in the country are cash- based and one of the weapons to fight this is to ensure transparency by digitalisation of transactions.

“One of the most potent weapons against corruption is transparency. Many corrupt activities are cash- based. Apart from the obvious economic benefits of moving into the direction of a cashless society, the literature does indicate that the more electronic payments are used in transactions as opposed to cash, the more there is traceability and therefore the less the corruption ” he added.
