A Cybersecurity Expert, Carl Amanor Sackey has bemoaned that most mobile money fraud in the country are resulted from a participatory action by victims who easily share their Pin Numbers and other details.
He said under no circumstance should a customer recite, share or write his mobile money Pin Number on a sheet of paper for a transaction saying this contribute to fraud in the system.
Carl Sackey was speaking at the MTN Bright Media Series conversation on Cybersecurity.
The virtual event focused on creating awareness on cybersecurity threats and its security measures.
According to Carl Sackey mobile money Pin Numbers must remain as security digits to individual persons and not to be shared to the public.
“Most people get frauded sometimes by unknowingly sharing their Pin Numbers at the point of going to withdraw monies and this is wrong.Don’t write you mobile money pin numbers on sheet of papers nor recite to vendors when withdrawing money.Take the paper away after the withdrawal, he advised.
Carl Sackey reiterated that situations where people use their date of births, passwords and car license plates for mobile money Pin Numbers must be stopped at once since fraudsters can easily guess.
