John Dramani Mahama’s dream of a comeback would be shattered with Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia waiting on the wings to be sworn-in as President of Ghana just after President Akufo-Addo, Mr. Antwi-Boasiako has said.
Mr. Antwi-Boasiako was addressing a statement by former President Mahama that he is likely to contest the 2024 Presidential election on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bole-Bamboi constituency, Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, has hinted that “Former President John Dramani Mahama who is from Bole here has asked me to tell the good people of Bole-Bamboi Constituency that he has not forgotten of the good things they have done for him over the years and that Inshah Allah (God willing) he is likely to come back to contest elections in his party and so they should use this special Eid-ul-Adha day to thank God and to ask for good health, success and victory for him”.
But Mr. Antwi-Boasiako quickly stopped Mr. Mahama in his tracks alerting him that Vice President Bawumia who has excellently steered the digital and economic affairs of Ghana, would beat him in any contest.
“He (Mahama) has forgotten that Mr. ‘Digital Man’ (Bawumia) is waiting for him. He would be waiting for him”, the NPP man said on Wontumi TV.
