A communications team member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Amaning has revealed that the minority caucus in Parliament has plotted an agenda to make Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Alban Sumana Bagbin the President of Ghana before 2024.
According to him, it is the reason why the hierarchy of the minority caucus in Parliament started agitations for the Finance Minister to be sacked.
Paul Amaning opined that they have an agenda beyond the sacking of Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta.
“How do you sacrifice someone who goes to search for funds to run the country? If you want to sack him, then how about those who are misappropriating public funds? For example, if the finance minister has allocated 1 million to the agriculture ministry and they are not able to spend it wisely, why do you hold the finance minister responsible?
He’s done what is expected of him,” he told Movement TV.
“The government cannot be blamed for the global crisis. But if we allow the NDC to dictate for us, then after sacking the finance minister, they will push for the sacking of the President too. They want Alban Bagbin to rule as President before 2024 ends. So, it’s an agenda. When they are done with the finance minister, then they continue with the President and then the Vice President. They can do that within 6 months because it’s not difficult at all,” he added.
He concluded by saying that one thing every Ghanaian should know is that the minority in Parliament are all NDC members and will do things in the interest of their party.
