Mid-Year Budget Review: GUTA Praises Gov’t For Not Introducing New Tax

Ghana Traders Union Association (GUTA) is lavishing praises on the government for not introducing new tax in the mid-year budget review.

According to the Association’s President, Dr. Joseph Obeng, they didn’t anticipate a new tax introduction.

Speaking on “The Privilege Morning Show” on Wontumi Radio/TV, he indicated that, the rate at which inflation has rose on the world market, the association would have been baffled should government had introduced new tax.

Dr. Obeng urged government to extend the tax paying for more Ghanaians to pay because the payers are few.

“Government should get a way to capture people who trade online because they don’t have fixed addresses,” he emphasized.

The GUTA President bemoaned that the outbreak of the COVID-19 has reduced the capital of the traders.
