Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu has resigned citing lack of cooperation from the Akufo-Addo led government and interferences in his work.
His reason has been debunked by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, who has revealed that Martin Amidu deliberately resigned just to pursue his Presidential ambition.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that Martin Amidu has realized that the current flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. John Mahama, is a weak link and can’t win the party power in 2024.
For this reason, Chairman Wontumi claims Mr. Amidu wants to take over the NDC in 2024 and lead them into an election as flagbearer.
“Martin Amidu has destroyed Mahama and realized that he doesn’t have teeth to bite. He wants to also damage the NPP and get the support of the Ahwois in leading the NDC but he is making mistake”, Chairman Wontumi said.
