Man Utd deny covering up Antony’s attack on ex-girlfriend

Manchester United have rubbished claims that the Premier League club tried to cover up allegations that Antony assaulted his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin in a hotel.

Gabriela alleged that the 23-year-old headbutted and punched her in a hotel room on January 14 this year.

The incident happened the day after a league clash against Manchester City.

Gabriela claimed she suffered a cut to her head and a damaged breast implant.

Antony has already issued a statement on social media denying the allegations and confirmed he has given a testimony to police.

But according to Cavallin, United sent a player support officer to the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Manchester, where she alleged Antony assaulted her.

Her legal team then claimed that a club doctor was called to assess her so that she would not visit a public hospital.

In response to the accusations, United have told Mirror Sport: “Any suggestion that the club covered-up these allegations is categorically false.”
