Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu

Majority leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Honourable Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has mourned the late former Member of Parliament, Honourable Daniel Okyem Boakye.

The Leader of Government’s business described the late MP as a man of many parts, a joy to know and work with, especially in matters of finance and economics, and as such, the nation has lost precious personality.

“An astute debater you were in Parliament”.

This comes after confirmed report of the former lawmaker’s demise on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

In a statement, the Suame MP noted that he had received with utter shock, the unheralded transition of a brother, former colleague Parliamentarian, and an unblemished patriot in the Elephant family, Mr. Daniel Okyem Aboagye.

“Humans recognize death as a sacred invitation to eternity by our Creator. Notwithstanding its inevitability, the call often leaves a trail of anguish and teeth gnashing especially, in instances of recognizable truncation of a flourishing mission, as the case of Okyem Aboagye is”, he said.

“Painful, devastating, shattering, and unbearable is a huge understatement to the family, both nuclear and extended. Which is why we pray the Almighty to provide comfort in this inauspicious moment”, parts of the statement read.

The statement went further to state that may the departing soul of Mr. Aboagye continue to be with Ghana and strengthen Ghanaians in the hallowed enterprise of retaining power to rebuild and reposition Ghana.

“Fare thee well, brave warrior who conquered death with an embrace!!”.
