Mahama’s Statement On Akonta Mining Shows He Doesn’t Read- Lawyer Obiri Boahen

Former President John Dramani Mahama’s statements on the operations of Akonta Mining Company Limited, has shown that he doesn’t read or have a proper understanding on the issue, lawyer Obiri Boahen has said.

The former deputy General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is saddened and has stated that he believes Mr. Mahama doesn’t “read” before “speaking” on issues of national interest.

Speaking on Wontumi TV last Saturday, the NPP man schooled Mr. Mahama on what President Akufo-Addo has said about the operations of Akonta Mining Company Limited and why he believes they are not into any form of illegal mining.

He indicated that the reaction of Mr. Mahama after President Akufo-Addo had spoken shows he doesn’t get proper briefing on issues before addressing it.

“I think when he (Mahama) wakes up; he wants to speak for people to think he is also around”, Nana Obiri Boahen said.
