Mahama Would Act Like Laurent Gbagbo, Destabilize Ghana's Peace- Abronye (Video)

Ghanaians should expect former President John Mahama to act like Laurent Gbagbo and destabilize Ghana’s peace if voted for, the Bono Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said.

Kwame Baffoe, has warned Ghanaians against voting for Mr. Mahama if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) decides to repeat him as their candidate for the 2024 Presidential elections.

The NPP Chairman popularly known as Abronye stated on Wontumi TV that Mr. Mahama is likely to emulate the antics of former President of Côte d’Ivoire, Laurent Gbagbo, and refuse to exist power if he should grab power.

The undemocratic move is to pave way for Mr. Mahama to rule Ghana for 12 years, the NPP Chairman said

“If you should vote for John Maham to be President, our peace would be threatened. He will repeat what Laurent Gbagbo did in Côte d’Ivoire”, Abronye strongly warned.

According to the Abronye, after fully serving his 4 year term, Mr. Mahama would refuse to step down and “that would trigger a fight in Ghana.”

He predicted that Mr. Mahama “would call for a constitutional amendment” and explained that this is plan the NDC has already designed to carry out.

Providing more details, Abronye noted that prior to the 2020 elections, the leadership of the NDC “had a plan to use two years to change Ghana’s constitution” if Mr. Mahama had won the elections.
