Former President John Mahama managed to sell Ghana’s port for a staggering $7 billion but ended up keeping $5.5 billion to himself, Chairman Wontumi has revealed.
After the transaction, the Ashanti regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, claims Mr. Mahama only declared $1.5 billion to Ghanaians.
“Mahama sold Ghana’s port for $7 billion but declared only $1.5 billion to Ghanaians. Where is the remaining money?” he asked.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show with Oheneba Nana Asiedu as host, Chairman Wontumi cautioned members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop complaining about port charges since it was their flagbearer who led the nation into such situation.
Bawumia’s resolve
Despite the challenges, Chairman Wontumi stated that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is determined to salvage the situation.
According to him, the NPP flagbearer led a delegation to Estonia to learn about their taxation system so that he can introduce the same system in Ghana.
