Mahama Must Stop Disrespecting The Akyems Now! – Chairman Wontumi Orders Mahama
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako has descended heavily on former President Mahama not to entangle his disrespectful nature with the Akyems.
He has therefore ordered Mr Mahama to apologize unreservedly to the Akyems and people of the Eastern Region saying Mr Mahama is full of ethnocentrism and it punctures his position as a former President.
Former President Mahama shared an article on his Facebook page written by Hon. Isaac Adongo, NDC MP for Bolgatanga Central Constituency with a caption, “An interesting piece from Hon. Isaac Adongo on the Agyapa Deal”
Making reference to some of the words in the article such as “The Akyems Sakawa Boys” and “Akyem mafia”, Chairman Wontumi described the post as disrespectful and must be condemned by all.
The daring politician echoed that there are pockets of tribalism in the article and did not expect the former President of Ghana to share such an article which can plunge Ghana into war when misinterpreted.
Chairman Wontumi told Oheneba Nana Asiedu host of Wontumi Morning Show on Wontumi TV and Radio that Mahama’s disrespectful nature has reached a crescendo and must be condemned immediately.
He explained that Mr Mahama in a desperation for power, decided to channel his energy to denigrate the Akyems to score cheap political points but he has forgotten some Akyems are also NDC.
“I urge Mahama to rescind and render an apology to the people of Akyem for drawing them into his dirty politicking,” he posited.
