The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has slated former President John Mahama for instructing the Police to fire shots at demonstrators who protested against his government in 2015.
According to the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, Mr. Mahama ordered the police to specifically target him, Gabby Otchere-Darko and some few others.
In an interview with Wontumionline.com, Chairman Wontumi stated that as a result of the instruction of Mr. Mahama, Justice Adjakuma, a member of the Let my Vote Count demonstrators, lost his eye leading to his demise.
“Mahama told his men in police uniform to target me and shoot me. They fired at my direction but nothing happened to me by the grace of God”, Chairman Wontumi recounted.
It would be recalled that policemen who were assigned to protect the Let my Vote Count demonstrators, ended up firing tear gas to disperse them, while arresting tens of them.
Chairman Wontumi branded former President Mahama an ‘unemployed’ person whose quest to bastardized Ghana’s security architecture by sponsoring the March for Justice demonstration, has ended as flop.
Chairman Wontumi stated that the machinations of Mr. Mahama to paint an atmosphere of insecurity in the country failed to get national and international attention like he had schemed to.
Chairman Wontumi advised the former President to use his time wisely and stop promoting issues that only seek to divide Ghanaians.
The March for Justice is led by the NDC youth wing will also have the full backing of the Inter-Party Resistance Against the New Voters Register (IPRAN), a group made up of six other political parties who have expressed their support for the cause.
