Mahama Gov’t Squandered $200 Million Funds For Saglemi Housing Project – Works and Housing Minister

Victory For Mahama Congratulate Him For Changing Untrustworthy Leadership In Parliament

$200 million meant for the construction of houses at Saglemi, were squandered by the government of John Dramani Mahama, the deputy minister for Works and Housing has shockingly revealed.

Hon. Freda Akosua Prempeh in an exclusive interview on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, surprisingly revealed that the erstwhile government has also paid the constructor for the project even though the work is at shambolic stage.

According to the deputy minister who is also the Member of Parliament for Tano North constituency, “without recourse to parliament they (Mahama’s government) reduced the scope of work from 5000 to 1506 houses pegging the cost at the same $200 million” and added that they even went further to reduce it to “1204 houses”.

She added that the government of President Akufo-Addo is doing its best to restore sanity and has reported the matter to the Criminal Investigative Department of the Ghana Police Service to look into the matter.

To complete the Saglemi housing project, Hon. Freda Akosua Prempeh stated that the current government needs an additional $30 million to do that.
