Mahama ‘Chop Last’ in managing Ghana’s GDP under the fourth republic -Kusi Boafo

The Chief executive officer (CEO), of Public Sector Reforms, Thomas Kusi Boafo has rated the former president, John Dramani Mahama the lowest when it comes the to Gross Domestic Product of the nation.

According to him, the country recorded a deficit Gross Domestic product in Mahama’s administration.

“Mahama left the country with a negative figure of 7.4 billion dollars. Any other government has done better than John Mahama, which I place him last” he said.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, on 4th February, 2024, he described the former president as ‘a bad manager’ of the economy so far based on the current prices.

In contrast, he placed the current president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the apex amongst all past leaders in the fouth Republic.
In line with this, he noted that, Ghana’s GDP as at 2022 was 76.6 billion dollars.

“I will place Akufo Addo first with an increase of 27.2 , John Agyekum Kufuor, second, with 26.2, Atta Mills, third, with 18.2, Jerry John Rawlings, 4th with a deficit of 4.6, and I will finally rate John Mahama last with a deficit of 7.4” Mr Boafo added.

He However stated that, the president is making giant strides in ameliorating the nation’s GDP.
