Mahama Built A Kitchen Airport In Kumasi, He Can’t Be Trusted – Wontumi Fumes

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has descended heavily on former President John Mahama for building a “Kitchen Airport” in Kumasi and turning round to tout it as a major development in his era.

According to him, the John Mahama led NDC only amassed worth for themselves to the detriment of the suffering of Ghanaians and never cared about development.

“ Mahama used $29 million to build the airport, but when we came and assessed it, it was 4 million. So now at the moment we are building ultramodern airport, we are not talking about kitchen airport; we are talking about airport that anybody can travel”, he argued.

Speaking on Adom TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, he fumed that John Mahama managed to build a kitchen like airport in Kumasi with a huge tax payers money but goes round bragging with that as a major project achievement.

“You see Ghanaians are very discerning, it was just two days to elections and Mahama cut sod for the Kumasi “Kitchen” Airport project two days to elections to lure voters to retain him in office but his bad deeds exposed him so Ghanaians voted him out and brought President Akufo-Addo.

Background

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo cut sod for the commencement of work on the second phase of the Kumasi Airport project on Wednesday, 6 June 2018.

In attendance at the sod-cutting ceremony were Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, ministers of state, some Members of Parliament, as well as the Head of Trade at the British High Commission, Mr Peter Courtney.

The project, will involve the extension of the runway from the current 1,981 metres to 2,300 metres, an addition of 319 metres, and the construction of a new terminal building with the capacity to hold one million passengers per year.

Mahama’s Reaction

Mr Mahama while addressing a gathering of NDC supporters at the party’s Unity Walk held in the Volta Region, said he has cut the sod for the second phase already and wondered why the current government will take such an action.

“Our opponents who accused us of photo-shopped projects, today, they are going round commissioning those projects.
