  • Bawumia floors Kennedy Agyapong in his home region after ‘bragging’ of winning with 80% of the vote.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has defeated Kennedy Agyapong in his home region the Central part of the country. Counting has successfully ended and Dr. Bawumia obtained 23 whiles Kennedy Agyapong obtained 19 votes.

Meanwhile, earlier during the day, Kennedy Agyapong told Journalist at the UCC voting center that he would win in his home region with 80% votes.

However, it turns out the delegates in Central region have chosen Dr. Bawumia over their own candidate.

The Municipal Chief Executive for GA West, Clement Wilkinson, has opined that once Kennedy Agyapong was bold enough to call all NPP members ‘fool’ and now he intends to lead them then he was the biggest ‘fool’.

Vice President Bawumia, has outshined the presidential aspirants in the Nothern Region, by obtaining over 90% in the outcome of the super delegate conference.

Vice President Dr Bawumia, has secured an 97% win for himself in the Ashanti Region.

This comes after the counting of votes from the just ended super delegates conference.

An agent for Kennedy Agyapong in the Upper West region has debunked rumors that agents for Kennedy Agyapong were chased out of the voting center.

Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement TV, after it had emerged that some agents were chase from the centre, he noted that the two agents in the center for Kennedy Agyapong are himself and the former GFA Boss Kwasi Nyantakyi. However, none of them have been intimidated.

“We are safe and sound”, he said.

Wife of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has gone to cast her ballot at the NPP’s headquarters in Accra. She did so with her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who is also on the ballot paper vying for the flagbearership position.

  • Scuffle erupts at voting center after Ashanti regional youth organizer for NPP shows ballot.

There were some scenes at the cultural center where the special delegates conference voting is happening in the Ashanti region. as the youth organizer for NPP, Ralph Sarfo is alleged to have displayed his ballot paper publicly after casting it.

According to reports from our Ashanti regional correspondent, the paper fell after he had casted his ballot. However, some agents for Kennedy Agyapong resisted not to allow him to drop his ballot paper into the ballot box because it will be against the guidelines of the party.

However, some eyewitnesses were of the view that the ballot paper fell and not that he had displayed it publicly.

Speaking on Movement In The Morning show, he noted that a classic example is what happened during 2016 elections, as Akuffo-Addo was able to perform better than Kufuor did in 2004 and 2008 even though, that was his home region.

“You don’t need to be an Ashanti before they will vote for you…. once they like you, that’s it”, Peter said.

He asserted that ”I’ll get 80%, no doubt about it so we should be rest assured, because they are going to honor me for my hardwork and my commitment to the region. I think all the delegates know what I’ve done for Central Region and they think this is the time. I know I’m going to get massive votes from Central region, no doubts about it, no matter the amount they give them or the intimidation, they have conscience and know that this is the man.

President Akufo Addo has arrived at the NPP headquarters premise where the ongoing superdelegate conference is taking place.

According to a reporter of Wontumi multimedia, voting has commenced at the NPP headquarters, where the President is present to cast his vote, as He graces the elections with his presence.

A sympathizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said broadcast Journalist Adakabri Frimpong Manso, has lost his credibility.

This comes after he alleged that Chairman Wontumi had printed over 5000 T-Shirts with Bawumia’s pictures for supporters to wear in other to intimidate other aspirants on the voting day.

Meanwhile, according to reports from our Ashanti regional correspondent, Sarkodie Peprah, not even a single person has been seen so far wearing party T- shirt.

“It’s part of politics but as a journalist, he ought to have known better that there are some allegations that goes against the party. What he did was below the belt”, he said on Movement TV.

  • Alan Cash’s Posters Flood Voting Centre at UCC- Nana Ansah Reports

According to reports from Nana Ansah Matthew in the central region, the only aspirants out of the ten vying for the flagbearership race, its only Alan Kojo Kyeremanteng’s posters that has taken over the voting center at the UCC campus.

He told Kwaku Dawuro that every corner at the voting center where the voting is taking place, he could find Alan Kojo Kyeremanteng’s poster.

He was however quick to add that security is very tight, as the security personnel have taken over the centers.

The Secretary of the NPP’s election committee, William Yamoah, has assured members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the committee with support from the Electoral Commission (EC) will ensure that the super delegates conference ends today smoothly and successful.

Speaking exclusive to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio, he noted that all concerns that were raised by the aspirants and even stakeholders have successfully been addressed ad as such, he can assure the NPP fraternity that there will be no issues as far as the super delegates conference is concerned this morning.

” The elections will start at 9AM and end at 1PM. Once, the polls end, the results will be collated at the various centers across the regions and then, brought to the Electoral Commission’s office here in Accra for a total collation of the entire results, after which the EC will move to the NPP’s headquarters in Accra, to declare the final results”, he explained.

“If you love NPP as a member, then ensure that you abide by the rules and guidelines set out by the party”, he said.
