Kumawood actor and producer LilWin has hit back hard at critics demanding he publicly congratulate Dr Likee for his sold-out O2 Indigo show in London.
According to him, the same entertainment industry currently pressuring him to clap for a colleague said absolutely nothing when he staged his own major productions.
The controversy began after LilWin had earlier alleged that Dr Likee’s headline comedy event at the O2 Indigo in London on May 22, 2026, was not self-funded, claiming he knew the individual who had financed it.
Those claims were swiftly refuted by Dr Likee’s associate Papa Kumasi, who disclosed that Likee had sold his personal car to fund the show. Media personality DJ Slim also piled on, questioning LilWin’s credibility and saying he “could not even fill Prempeh Assembly Hall.”
LilWin, in a video that has gone viral on social media, hit back at critics.
“Those people who know the facts and are just talking anyhow, God will deal with you guys,” he said.
He argued that he owes no one any congratulations, pointing out that he never received any congratulations from Dr Likee and the general Kumawood community when he hosted his own shows.
“Those of you angry that I didn’t tell someone congratulations, listen. I had a very big show. The show took four days. The person you’re saying I should congratulate did not say anything to me or post anything on his socials.
“When I premiered A Country Called Ghana in Accra, I sold out the National Theatre. I had personalities like Medikal, MPs and ministers coming to support. No single colleague congratulated me. When I did Traore, no single person congratulated me. Then you guys are forcing me to congratulate someone. Are you mad?” he said.
He also addressed reports that he had originally been scheduled to appear on the show before being dropped.
“I wasn’t even invited to the show, so why am I being forced to congratulate someone?”
