Let’s Use Technology To Hasten Development In Ghana — Dr John Kumah Advocates.
The Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Dr John Ampontuah Kumah has urged various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to choose contractors and construction firms that use the latest technology in the field of work when signing them up for projects.
The MP noted that the MMDAs could hasten the pace of development in their localities when they decide to employ technology in the initiatives and projects they plan to undertake.
Addressing the media at Akyawkrom, a community within the Ejisu where he had commissioned a 16-seater toilet facility and borehole for the people of the town, Hon Kumah said the development gap between developing countries and the developed ones can only be bridged through the use of technology by the former.
He urged the people to take good care of the facility since it was designed to last long, adding that 27 of same are being constructed in other 27 communities in Ejisu and were over 60% complete.
“The vision I have is to see such basic amenities being extended to every corner of this constituency and in all these projects my team and I are using the best of technology to do same”, the youthful MP noted.
MORE PROJECTS:
Dr Kumah revealed that he has started a green house farming project at Esianimpong, a farming community on the Ejisu municipality.
He also noted that a hatchery as well as processing plant for poultry products would soon be set up in Ejisu.
These projects, the youthful MP said are technologically advanced initiatives aimed at maximizing the benefits from agriculture.
Dr Kumah asked for support and prayer from the people, noting that more initiatives are in the mind to be enrolled for the benefit of all in Ejisu.
“I am determined to roll out more projects that have the potential of providing jobs and opportunities for the youth of this ancient constituency”, Dr Kumah asserted.
CHIEF:
A representative of the Chief of Akyawkrom, Nana Osei Tutu Ampem II said the community was grateful to Dr Kumah for the two facilities.
He noted that previously the people struggled to find a proper place of convenience since the old one they were using had deteriorated and the stench on same was unbearable.
The Chief, through the spokesperson urged the town folks to keep the place and facility tidy at all times.
He asked the people to pay to use the facility anytime they visited, adding that without the insertion of a 50 pesewas coin no one could access the toilets.
