There is a deliberate attempt by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to make Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s record look superior than that of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Forkuo is warning.
Dr. Solomon Forkuo, a lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) stated despite the NPP holding a superior record than any government in Ghana, he is against dragging Dr. Nkrumah in the debate.
Standing by the records of NPP, Dr. Forkuo aired out that the “parameters” and “premise” are the not the same for anybody to compare the records of this government to that of Nkrumah.
“What is ahead of us is far better than our past”, he said.
His caution comes on the back of a statement by the running mate of the NPP about Ghana’s first President which has attracted some flak from the public.
“NPP has to be careful when they are speaking because the opponent is empty and pouncing on little mistakes to stay relevant. Mahama met people and is talking about Nkrumah’s record. He isn’t talking about the over 20 years that they have been in power and what they did better than Nkrumah”, he said.
