Let’s Celebrate Easter In Moderation — Francis Adomako Urges Ghanaians.

Mr Francis Adomako, the Ashanti Regional Organizer of the New Patriotic Party has rallied Ghanaians to be moderate with the upcoming Easter celebrations.

According to him, it has taken the country a great deal of effort to scale down the worrying COVID-19 rate of infections from the staggering 75, 000 active cases to the current rate of 2,100 cases.

The surge, he noted was as a result of the populace losing their guard during the Christmas period where the protocols needed to curb the spread of the disease was thrown to the dogs.

Speaking to Wontumionline.com morning, Mr Adomako said the country can avoid such a situation if they are minded to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols despite it being the season for Easter.

‘’I plead with everyone in the country to be mindful of the threat of COVID-19 and adhere to the protocols announced to protect us as citizens even as we prepare to celebrate Easter ’’, Mr Adomako admonished.

CAUTION:

Mr Adomako cautioned revelers who on Easter periods travel to many known sites like Kwahu and other parts of the country to be mindful of COVID-19.

He also reminded Christians who at these times gather around in conventions and outdoor events to be mindful of the precarious COVID season the nation finds itself in.

The organizer said both revelers and Christians could undertake their activities but should do so with the protocols attached to the season in place to its fullest including the provision of items for the washing of hands and the insistence on people to be in their nose masks before their entry into the premises events of Easter would be held at.

He noted the advice is not to stop people from travelling or from enjoying themselves but rather to do all that they plan in moderation and in adherence to the covid-19 protocols.

‘’I humbly caution revelers who are bent on going ahead with their activities this Easter to do so bearing in mind that COVID-19 is still lurking around and do the needful by abiding by all the protocols needed to be safe from infection’’, the NPP executive urged.

COMMENDATION:

The Regional Organizer has meanwhile commended the government for the provision of vaccine for the populace.

He noted even though many are yet to be vaccinated under the categories as outlined by government and the Ministry of Health, he was hopeful by the end of the year almost half of the population or more would be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Mr Adomako thanked all healthcare providers especially doctors and nurses at the health facilities in the country for braving all odds during the outbreak of the pandemic to attend to cases brought to their outfits.

Many of these doctors and nurses, the regional NPP executive lost their lives but did so in the line of duty and noted that they would forever be remembered for their utmost sacrifice to the people of Ghana.

‘’I will take this opportunity to commend the President for displaying leadership by acquiring the vaccines for the country and ensuring that the Ministry of Health administers the same to the first category of persons mentioned in a directive’’, Mr Adomako stated.
