The Deputy Oti Regional Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party; Nana Budu has taken a swipe at Ghanaians especially members of the National Democratic Congress who are calling out the embattled Minister for Water and Sanitation, over some missing monies in her residence.
He quizzed the reaction of some Ghanaians who expressed shock at the amount of money allegedly kept in the room of the Minister.
“Is it because she’s a public Officer?. There are people who have more than 50 million dollars kept in their vaults underground in this country, including former Ministers in erstwhile Rawlings, Kufour, Mills and Mahama’s government and it’ll surprise you to know that they are rather the ones jumping from one radio station to the other to make noise over Cecilia Dapaah” the outspoken Young Patriot said during an Interview with wontumionline.com, Evans Manasseh.
He could not understand why some members of the National Democratic Congress will express such shock over such sum of money in the room of a successful businessman like Osei Kufour, whose wife is equally a successful businessman, a politician and a Diplomat.
“Manasseh, In any case, do you expect the husband to be the complainant alone in a case which involved the Hon. Cecilia Dapaah’s matrimonial home?. She definitely cannot allow the husband alone to follow up on the case whiles she sits and look on, simply because she’s a Minister”.
Nana Budu used the opportunity to advise the general public on keeping such sums of money in their rooms instead of the banks, adding that they may be drawing Armed Robbers closer to their doors since house helps of today cannot be trusted.
He chided the NDC, calling them hypocrites over some comments made by their Communication outfits, indicating that most of them may have more than such amounts in their rooms which they stole from the public purse.
“If NDC members in Ghana are asked today to swear on oath that they do not have more than 2 million in their bedrooms, we’ll hold a mass burial in this country before this month July comes to an end. We are only being hypocrites and opportunistic. Osei Kufour and his wife are successful businessmen who have carried themselves well throughout their career” Nana Budu said.
