Lampard ‘close’ to becoming manager of another English club

Former Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard, is “closing in” on his next managerial position.

According to The Mirror, Lampard is set to be appointed new boss of Coventry.

It is a move that will see him join Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney in the Championship.

Lampard has been out of work since May 2023, which was a second spell in charge of Chelsea for 11 games as interim boss, after Graham Potter was sacked.

The 46-year-old is now being lined up to take the reins at Coventry.

It is believed that Sky Blues owner Doug King is eager to bring an “established name” into the CBS Arena.

Coventry have fired Mark Robins, who guided the club from League Two and into the Championship play-off final.

The club sits in 17th place in the Championship table.
