Kwesi Pratt Speaks About Placing Injunction On The 2020 Elections

The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has declared that an injunction could be placed on the 2020 general elections should the Electoral Commission (EC) disenfranchise even one voter before elections are held.

Speaking on Peacefm’s Kokrooko show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the seasoned journalist warned the EC not disenfranchise anybody stating that “nobody should be disenfranchised. One person can go to court and place an injunction on the election.”

He also revealed that he was not happy with the conduct of the EC pointing out that the first provisional register the institution handed over to the various political parties were full of mistakes.

I am not happen with the EC, they didn’t do their work well and I am even shy of their conduct. They handed over the information to all political parties and the first provisional register had mistakes in it. Even the MP for Ashaiman, had his name omitted from the roll. This same register was used for the exhibition work”, he lamented.

On the same platform, Mr. Kwesi Pratt urged the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. John Dramani Mahama to reject the 2020 election results if he isn’t satisfied with it.

John Dramani Mahama in an address to commemorate the NDC’s 28th anniversary noted that the party will not accept the results of a flawed election.

“As the leader of the NDC, I wish to serve notice that we shall do our part to ensure that our country remains peaceful and the electoral process proceeds smoothly. But, and a big but! let nobody assume that we will accept the results of a flawed election”, he said.

And commenting on his statement, Mr. Kwesi Pratt stated that there is nothing wrong with the call by former President Mahama and that he was right to reject the verdict of 2020 if he doesn’t believe it is fair.

What is wrong with Mahama’s statement?” he rhetorically asked.
