Kusi Boafo Identifies NDC’s Trap To Collapse NPP
The Public Sector Reform (PSR) CEO, Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo, has urged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to control their emotions especially, when venting their anger on air in reaction to disagreements as the consequences are likely to lead to an inferno that can consume the ruling party.
Mr. Kusi Boafo who was speaking on Wontumi TV/Radio in an interview on Wednesday, and monitored by Wontumionline.com observed that all differences or misunderstanding between party members should not be handled carelessly, especially , on air.
He therefore advised that all party matters bordering on disagreements should not be allowed to spill over especially in this “crucial immediate post-election era.”
“Strictly speaking, all party matters with respect to disagreements and squabbles should be considered as strictly an internal party matter and handled as such.” He admonished.
Mr Kusi Boafo’s comments were in reaction to some heated exchanges that have occurred lately between some NPP stalwarts which recently transpired and provided space on the airwaves.
“Turning the airwaves into a battle ground can dangerously threaten party unity, stability and cohesion and by extension could , create the impression that a cold war is raging between some big wigs in the NPP.” He said.
Mr Kusi Boafo further cautioned that any infighting, particularly among party stalwarts, should be avoided because it can play into the hands of NPP’s main opponents, the NDC, so party members should tread cautiously.
According to him the NDC has set numerous post election traps targeted at the ruling government’s strong hold of Ashanti Region, with an objective of collapsing the ruling party and to avoid any situation that can spell the doom of the NPP everything must be done to protect its unity and sanctity .” He noted.
“Party faithful should rather strive to err on the side of caution by keeping their anger and bitterness to themselves or at best, allow all their differences to be treated strictly as an internal party matter.”
According to the outspoken CEO of the Public Sector Reform, with what Ghanaians are currently witnessing on the political landscape, the NDC has started their 2024 campaign with a focus to do everything within its capability to break the front of the ruling NPP.
“Any such thing as in fighting will strongly go in their favour so those whose voices carry weight in the NPP should be extra careful when making public utterances that could one day become an albatross around the neck of the great party.” He cautioned.
Mr Kusi Boafo urged media personnel hosting political talk show programmes to also mind their choice of words.
“The presenters have to be careful so that they do not become deadly tools in the hands of the opposition to be used against their political interest.
