Kumasi Police Arrest Four Suspected Armed Robbers

The Ashanti regional Police command has arrested four suspected armed robbers for their involvement in various cases of armed robbery in the region.

The suspected robbers are Mustapha Adams (37years) Ibrahim Adamu, (39yrs) Adamu alias’ Lion’ (33yrs) and Mohammed Abubakar, (33yrs) .

The suspects who are accused of being behind recent vehicle snatching cases including an official vehicle driven by the Asokore Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Alhaji Alidu Seidu, are
all in police custody assisting with investigations.

ASP Godwin Ahiayo who briefed the media at the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters recalled that on Thursday 25th March 2021, one Emmanuel Owusu Antwi, 40-years now deceased and an Engineer with Joshop Construction was robbed of his Toyota Prado vehicle with the registration number GN 4131-20 and shot in the process by the three(3) armed men.

The victim sustained fatal gunshots wounds and was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment but he later died whilst on admission.

ASP Ahianyo Godwin indicated that the police will send the suspects to court after being prosecuted.

ASP Ahianyo, during the interview, first spoke about the robbery incident that led to the death of the Joshop engineer, Emmanuel Owusu before speaking about the other robberies carried out by the gang including the Asokore Mapong MCE’s vehicle.
