Kumasi Mayor, Hon Samuel Pyne has last Wednesday gave a chilling account of the deceased NPP youthful element, Bismark Nana Obiri Yeboah, popularly called Nana B Junior.
Hon Pyne said he had known Nana B jnr since his days as General Secretary of the NPP in Ashanti and the deceased had been part of the youth WING.
Addressing a stakeholder sensitization programme for drivers last week, the Mayor noted that Nana B Junior would every time show up at party activities at the headquarters and was involved in the 2016 and 2020 campaigns.
“It hurts me that today a boy I have known and had so much hope in could die just because a driver decided to be careless and knock him down to result in his death”, the Mayor stated.
INDUSTRY:
The Mayor stated that the deceased was so committed to the party that he wasn’t surprised that he found a Godfather in Maxwell Kofi Jumah, former MP of Asokwa.
He revealed that Nana B would commit himself to party activities to the point that he was seen mounting the party’s flags on electric poles across the metropolis including Asokwa.
Hon Pyne said what saddens him most about the death of Nana B Junior was that it was rare to see such humble characters in the country.
“I am sad but I pray our drivers would through the death of Nana B Jnr learn to be disciplined on the roads so that they do not continue to cut short the lives of people with huge potentials like Nana B just like that”, the Mayor sobbed.
DONATION:
The Mayor as a sign of support to the family donated an undisclosed cash amount and beverage as well as light food items to the family.
He noted that the donation was just to show that he was with the family in this difficult time and promised to partake in the activities that would end on Monday, 28th November.
APPRECIATION:
Expressing appreciation to the Mayor, Mike Chang Soo-Odoom, Communications Director for Crusaders, a youth group with links to the NPP thanked the Mayor for the gesture.
He noted that the family and the Crusaders group were happy that the Mayor continues to show them kindness, adding that since his days as Regional Secretary, Hon Pyne has been good to them.
