Ksi: Monday Heavy Downpour Drowns 5-Year-Old Boy @ Atonsu
The residents of Atonsu, a suburb of Kumasi were thrown into a state of grief when a 5-year-old boy drowned following a heavy rainfall on Monday afternoon.
According to an eye witness, the boy only known as Kobby got drowned when he was playing with a ball.
“He tried to bring the ball out but was unfortunately carried away by the high wave,” the eyewitness narrated.
According to him, the tragic incident occurred around 4:30 pm.
“I saw the child’s head when the water was taking him away. I tried my best to rescue him but it was fruitless,” he told Wontumionline’s Nana Owusu Achiaw.
Sadly enough, the ball was found but little Kobby could not be found after a comprehensive search by a fire service team.
However, an attempt to speak with the fire service team proved futile.
