A Kumasi-based popular church, Faith Covenant Chapel on Saturday 28/11/20 organized a super extra-ordinary Peace and Evangelism Walk under a theme dubbed, ‘Victory Through Jesus Christ’ at Asafo ahead of the December polls.

The walk which was organized amidst brass band and holding of pla cards saw people from all the corners of Asafo trooping to participate in the event.

In an exclusive interview with Wontumionline.com, Evangelist Rockson Kumah said that, the aim of the programme is to appreciate God’s loves and the life he has given to Ghanaians despite their sins and inequities.

According to Evangelist Kumah, some people have forgotten about Jesus and embarking all on forms of sins all because of election.

“We should know that Jesus Christ exist and not commit against him and deviate from his path.” He advised

The popular Evangelist said that, after election, governance follows so Ghanaians should be vigilant and careful.

He called on the various flagbearers of the political parties to set example for the members and supporters to follow.

The flagbearers should advise their people. If they do that I hope everything will go on smoothly and peaceful because we are all seeking for the victory and peace of the country.

Evangelist Kumah appealed to the members and supporters of the various political parties to also adhere to the advice.

He said if someone says ‘boot for boot’, the person might mean something different, “so we shouldn’t attack him to destroy the peace we have.”

“We should help ourselves for peace to prevail before during and after the election. We have wise, genius and scholars in our country so if we desist from election violence, God will grant us whatever we ask from him.” He said

Advising the youth, Evangelist Kumah said that, this is the time the youth should be vigilant and not desist from the gospel.

“The youth should desist themselves from insults because it is a curse to insult the
elderly.

He said that, they should pray and let patient, humbleness and love lead them as the election draws closer.

He appealed to the youth to be a symbolic of peace and the gospel.

The Youth President for the Church, Professor Sylvester Juantoah said that, the programme was enticing and thrilling.

He said, the crowd was massive adding that despite the COVID-19 people came in their numbers to participate which made it to be successful.

Professor Juantoah indicated that, this is the season Ghanaians especially the youth should surrender their lives to Jesus Christ so they won’t regret when the bad days come.

“I am appealing to the youth to give their lives to Jesus Christ and live a righteous life.”

He stressed that, as the country is preparing for the election, the citizens should first seek the peace of the nation first if not Christians won’t get peace.

“Politicians should not influence the youth to cause disturbances in the election.”

Professor Juantoah urged the flagbearers to publicize about peace for the world to know that, Ghana is a nation of peace.

“It is a good programme that came to the area. Over the years Asafo has been recognized with bad name so if such programme is organized here it will change the attitude of the youth and lift the image of Asafo.” The Unit Committee Chairman for Asafo, Hon. Solomon said

He also stated that it would help the youth to give their lives to Jesus Christ.
