Kotoko look to have released six of their first team players ahead of the coming season.
Evans Owusu, Mohammed Abass, Richard Arthur, Douglas Owusu Ansah, Kelvin Andoh and Sam Adams were all left out of the team’s mandatory COVID-19 test on Tuesday.
The playing body and technical team members of the Club all underwent the test ahead of the new season, however the six players were missing during the exercise.
This further raises assumptions that the players will play no part in Coach Maxwell Konadu’s team for the 2020/21 season.
Owusu joined Kotoko, two years ago from lower division side Charity stars with Mohammed Abass and Richard Arthur all arriving at the Club after stints outside Ghana.
Owusu Ansah on the other hand came through from the team’s youth side.
Andoh and Adams all joined the Ghanaian giants from Wa All Stars and Aduana Stars respectively as free agents.
Maxwell Konadu is believed to have already submitted the list of players he will be working with to the Management of the Club.
It however remains unclear whether the Club will issue explanation on why the six players were left out of the test.
The Porcupine Warriors will officially resume training on Wednesday to prepare for a busy season ahead.
