KMA CEO Reveals Plans To Maintain Sanity Ahead Of Christmas

The Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, has said that the Assembly is putting good measures in place to ensure that people would enjoy the festive season .

According to him, the Coronavirus pandemic still exists with the World Health Organization (WHO) issuing a caution to the world to be very vigilant.

Hon. Osei Assibey told Oheneba Nana Asiedu in an exclusive interview on Wontumi Radio/TV that, due to the prevalence of the pandemic it has become necessary for the Assembly to put strong measures in place to guarantee good health for residents and public safety generally..

“The best advise I will give to residents is for them to continue to wear the nose masks and also observe the other protocols with respect to public gathering..” He said

He noted that, Kumasi continues to serve as a major business enclave with its population jumping from around 1.9million in normal times to 2.5 million in Christmas as people flood the city to transact business of all kinds.

” To avoid any fallout we are putting things in place to contain congestion to allow free movement for both pedestrians and motorists especially, in the Central Business District (CBD) during the Yuletide”.

The Kumasi Mayor noted that, the Ashanti Regional Security Council under the chairmanship of Hon. Simon Osei Mensah would intensify police patrols during the festive season.

“More Police would be deployed to protect lives and property.” He assured.
